prima & Michael [anecdote] 4-28-11

When will ever use this? This is a question I ask myself all the time while in class. I look at most of the things I learn in my Statistics class and I feel like I'll never use it.

Some of the teachers just seem to be dumb as well. For instance, my economics teacher was giving us notes to write and I believe that he put our word to know on the board, then wrote the definition, and then was redundant and put a sentence telling us the word again. I asked him, "Was that last sentence really necessary?" He told me yes it was, but I think he knew it was stupid of him to have done that.

We think that companies should be able to hire people who project the company image because if you were running an eco friendly company you wouldn't hire someone who drives a Hummer. An employee who projects the company image can make your company more successful and seem more professional.

Prima & Michael [vocabulary paragraph] 4-13-11

The empirical evidence all pointed to Mr. Hamilton as the one that killed Joey. Christian was an advocate for this as he saw the crime. Mr. Hamilton claimed that Christian must have seen a mirage because he had nothing to do with Joey's untimely end. Mr. Hamilton came up with a magic bullet claiming, that he was in Vegas at the time of the incident. In one of the police reports a witness claimed to see a man with black hair, and this did not match Mr. Hamilton's appearance. Mr. Hamilton in laud-praise said, "I didn't kill Joey!" The evidence began to ascent against him though. Mr. Hamilton tried to impede the trial by faking a heart attack. This was able to constrain the trial for another day.

In the article "Stop Waiting for a Savior," by Timothy A. Hacsi he states that just because you have a background in education doesn't mean you can improve education. We agree with Hacsi because we believe that we need to find ways to improve the problems, not someone to improve them.

Prima & Michael [4-5-11]

In today's lesson we learned some templates. One that we learned was,'' On the one hand and on the other hand''. We leaned that if you starts a sentence with on the one hand somewhere in that paragraph you have to mention on the other hand. Another template that we learned was,'' I understand but....". We learned that it's always good to state your opinion but state that you understand the opposing side.
